Description

Riding the Cat ‘N Fiddle Road would take 7.5 miles from Bruxton to Macclesfield in the country of Cheshire. It has an asphalt surface and with the most challenging bends ever made. For almost all of its length, the cat and fiddle entire road has severe bends and steppe falls. On top of that rocky stone walls are present making it more dangerous. As a motorcycling enthusiast taking the challenging bends of this road is definitely worth it.

Planning your ride on The Cat ‘N Fiddle Road

The Cat ‘N Fiddle Road was nicknamed as the widow maker for the death tolls hence it would be very advisable for you to be ready with all your gears. The route would take around 13 minutes to 25 minutes to finish.  If you are just using the buses around the town, you can finish the route in almost 35 minutes to an hour maximum. Take note of the rocky walls of the edges and you might want to bring the best defense mechanism you have.  Include all of the safety gears that you might need for the route. Your safety should be the number one priority.

Fuel

The Cat ‘N Fiddle road is around 7.5 miles long and it is between two towns. The fuel access is easier because there are gasoline stations for both ends. In case you still encounter shortage of gas in the middle of your course, just bring some extra gallon of gas.

Accommodation and Food

The route of the Cat ‘N Fiddle road is surrounded by historical hotels so it would be very cozy to stay into one of those. The Macclesfield  North Hotel offers the best accommodation in town with their new generation hotel rooms. You can also enjoy watching TV and stay connected with your loved ones through their wifi connection. You can still look for other places in Buxton that also provides the same convenience. Either way the access to these pubs is a lot easier than you think.

Weather

It would be impossible to take the route during winter season. Many accidents have been recorded due to the slippery nature of the road in that season. It would be best to visit The Cat ‘N Fiddle Road during summer. This way you can enjoy the challenging severe bends of the road.

Sights

There are daily buses from Buxton to Macclesfield and you can use them in enjoying the sights of the route. The incomparable sunsets during the summer is a must see sight as well. Additionally, there are historical pubs that you can visit and enjoy the antiquity of it.  It is also near the origin of silk industry in Britain and to visit the sites would be very fascinating.

Itinerary/ Timing

Since there are daily buses from Buxton to Macclesfield it would be a lot easier for you to have a tour. Just make sure that you are riding the route during summers. You can enjoy the cozy weather as well as the smooth asphalt road. You can either pick up a ready made package tour or do it yourself tour. Just pick the most affordable one. Don’t forget to enjoy the ride.

Much respect for the #originalmotul class riders in the #dakar2023. Each night they service their own bikes while the others rest.
Very jealous of anyone at the Dust 2 Dawson at the moment. Managed to get there a few years ago and had a great time.
