The A82 road is a very scenic riding route runs from Glasgow to Fort William and Inverness. It is a 167mi (269 km) long passing along the shores of Loch Lomond and Loch Ness and the shadow of Ben Nevis along the way. It is the second longest primary A-road which has been frequently regarded as one of the most dangerous roads in Scotland. The section of A82 road between Tarbet and Ardlui is narrow and can be very slow. This road is very exciting and sometimes very exposed and unsecured driveway in innumerable twists and turns. It’s a popular route for tourists due to its extensive scenery, and it serves as the main artery for commercial and heavy goods traffic through the area. It is also one of the Hollywood favourite roads. This scenic road is shown in Bond’s Skyfall film: a driving clip where the Aston is on a two lane road, between Bridge of Orchy and the Kings House Hotel. The bits where Bond and M are standing by the parked Aston, on a single track road, are in Glen Etive. The only road in/out is the single track road that leaves the A82 near the Kings House Hotel. Safety note: The A82 has been identified as one of several trunk roads in the Highlands that suffers from problems with deer-vehicle collisions (DVCs).
